I've had several calls this week alone from people wanting us to take their dog and find a new home for it. I wish we had enough foster homes for all the Border collies needing homes, but we can only help a few at a time. If you send us the information, we will post your dog as a courtesy listing and do what we can to help you.

We are not a shelter - we do not have a building where you can come see the dogs we have listed. (See more information below.) The dogs we have available for adoption are in foster homes throughout Northwest Arkansas. Some of the dogs we have listed are courtesy listings, which means the owner is looking for a new home for the dog. You will need to contact us to get the phone number of the foster home or owner in order to set up a time to meet the Border collie you like.
CAN YOU FOSTER A BORDER COLLIE?
We could use some foster homes! We always have people interested in adopting our dogs, but we need temporary homes for these dogs while we are training them, evaluating them and getting their vet work done. There are always dogs that we have to turn away, because we don't have a place for them. Can you help us? We have at least four in this area that currently need foster /temporary homes. We can usually find a new home for most fosters in 4-6 weeks.

We are now officially a 501(c)(3) organization. This status will allow us to accept donations and to hold adoption days at PetSmart. Watch for us at upcoming events.
Our Featured Pet...
Keeko is a great dog, but he is a little shy. He is currently being kept at a doggie day care facility because we don't have a foster home for him. He is getting lots of good attention and has come a long way. He is ready for a forever home!!
We always know of lots of wonderful dogs available for adoption. Do you have the time and energy for a Border collie? If you answered yes, get in touch with us right away! We want to save as many of these precious dogs as we can. We have a hard time finding homes for really nice Border collies that are a little older than puppies or 1-2 years old. If you think you might be interested in an adult dog (over 2 years), please let us know.

Adopting a friend
Dogs adopted through Border Collie Rescue of the Ozarks are up to date with all shots, heartworm tested and on preventative, and will be spayed or neutered before placement. Standard adoption donation is generally $100 depending on costs incurred. An adoption contract is required.

How To Meet One Of Our Border Collies
We are not a shelter facility. We rely on foster homes to house our actual rescues. Therefore, there is no one address where you can visit all our dogs. We will need to set appointments for you to meet any possible dogs, at their foster home. This of course, must be arranged with the fostering family, taking into consideration their schedule. With this in mind, we endeavor to find a good match for you personality before setting any appointments. We have actually found this to be very conducive to creating happy and healthy matches. We also endeavor to maintain a list of Border Collies in various shelters, and assist the shelters in placing their Border Collies.
